Dr Dave Kelly
I had grown up with chiropractic care and a more natural understanding of health, but it wasn't until 7th form at Viard College (Wellington) that I decided I wanted to be a chiropractor.
I left the country in 1993, at age 17, to study chiropractic at the RMIT in Melbourne. At the same time a NZ chiropractic course was being developed. So in 1994 I decided to switch over to this course. I received my Pre-Graduate Diploma in Chiropractic Science (NZ School of Chiropractic) and my Bachelor of Science (University of Auckland) in 1997. I received my Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) in 1998 and in 1999 I started working as a chiropractor in the beautiful city of Wanganui.
In my last years of study I led a randomised controlled trial which used a mental rotation paradigm to study the effects of upper cervical adjustments on reaction time. A positive outcome from this was the publication of this research in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics (2000). That year I was awarded the Liz Mackay Award (for top NZ chiropractic researcher).
After initially working in Wanganui, in 2001 I moved to Ireland and worked as a chiropractor in and around Dublin. Upon returning to NZ after a couple of years, I worked as a locum chiropractor in Australia and NZ and set-up the new practice, Kelly Chiropractic with my Dad, Brian.
My number one passion is spending time with my family: my wife Tessa, our 3 girls Frances, Josephine and Matilda.
Dr Brian Kelly
Brian was born and raised in Wellington. He attended St Patricks Scondary School where he developed a very keen interest in sport. A couple of years after finishing he decided to become a chiropractor, largely based on the positive experiences his brother had with chiropractic care, when he was told he wouldn't be able to walk again.
After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, USA, Brian returned to Wellington to work for 2 years in Porirua. He then opened Johnsonville Chiropractic Clinic where he practiced for near 30 years, before opening Kelly Chiropractic with his son, Dave, in 2003.
His passions, other than chiropractic, are spending time with his wife Diana, children and grandchildren.
Pam has been working at Kelly Chiropractic for
10 years and she loves meeting new people.
Pam is married to Andy and has three adult children as well as 5 beautiful grandchildren.
She is heavily involved in her church and enjoys family time, regular gym classes, tenpin bowling, tramping and walking her ex-racing greyhound Bud.
Deborah has been working at Kelly Chiropractic for 5 years. The best part of the job is meeting the wonderful patients we have.
Deborah is married to Nick and has two adult children, Rebecca an Accountant and Shane who is studying Computer Science and Psychology at Otago University.
She also has a beautiful Golden Retriever, Princess, whom she tries to walk regularly.
