'I HAD A DREAM"(The Dream of a Healer)
T'was as a lad I did dream A long time ago it would seem Whole health to all humanity! To me it seemed like insanity! For some do swallow thier pills Off' times for imaginary ills From head to heel, hand to toe Our pain often seems like a woe Stifling our style and energy Stopping potential prodigy Of human effort and skill That stirs us all with a thrill When with our bodies sleek We reach that wondrous peak Cherished so oft' in a dream Impossible at times it would seem Especially by those in great pain Who seek to stay just the same? In quiet despair we grope A day without pain we hope We see this doctor and that With a friend and foe we do chat All seeking to live a dream When all with health will gleam A wondrous world that would be At last from all ills set free! All pills and pain far gone To some distant land forlorn! Never to return to our shores Seldom to be sold in our stores! But that's not impossible it seems To have such happy dreams! Ahhhh! Wait my dear good friend For god onto earth did send - A young man of Irish extraction With good looks and handsome complexion With hands and vision all blessed Who to me - he humbly confessed - "I had a dream as a boy That health is not just a toy Be carelessly used for disregard But greatly cherished and guarded Like treasure beneath life's scars So precious just like the stars A gift from god to embrace This truly comes as a grace To all how rightly do claim That curing comes in god's name And healing through humble hands By aligning our skeletal bends" By Brian - who had a boy's dream A long time ago it would seem
